Today, in the "Discover Why!" column, I want to share with you the story of the Jade Spirit Collection, featuring various ONI masks and illustrating how it originated and the reasons behind the choice of this particular form.
Why ONI-shaped masks?
Resin ONI masks make up the first collection I created, allowing me to experiment with various color combinations, color application techniques, and the creation of textures and light-shadow effects.
Those passionate about Japanese culture and tradition may have noticed that the depiction is not precisely that of an ONI but rather almost feline.
This is because the idea for this mask originated from Aurelién, a dear customer who chose me to bring his creation, the Jade Spirit, to life. In his vision, he needed a feline face made of green jade, primitive, mysterious, and powerful, giving rise to the mask referred to as ONI, but whose true name is Jade Spirit.

The Jade Spirit Collection includes a specific coloration linked to the LGBQ+ community, which I had the opportunity to create on commission but is replicable and customizable. Additionally, there are more classic proposals with colors suitable for every occasion.
